Library Committee

The committee, within the framework of the overall strategic policies of the institution, shall: Advises and reviews library policies for instruction, resources, services, and the facility advice regarding library services, especially innovation, for the campus community to discuss and evaluate budgetary issues for books, journals, databases, media, e-resources etc. Reviews benchmarking reports with peer institutions for resources, staffing, and services to ensure the library is connected with and supports the institution's academic programs. Represent the views of the library's stakeholders on library and information services. To ensure the best possible support is provided, recommend new collections and promote contributions to the link.


✔ Facilitating communication with and obtaining feedback from the institution community on library collections, programs, services, infrastructure, and communication mechanisms.

✔ To provide a forum for discussing the University library and its community's needs and expectations for information.

✔ To advocate for the library in institution‐wide decision‐making groups.

✔ To advise the library on policy matters concerning services, resources and facilities.

✔ To provide an opportunity to raise and discuss library and information services initiatives.

✔ To facilitate communication between the library and the community it serves.


✔ To guide the Librarian in formulating general library policies and regulations that govern the library's functions.

✔ To provide proper documentation services and update the Library collection.

✔ To work towards modernisation and improvement of Library and Documentation Services.

✔ To formulate policies and procedures for efficient use of Library resources.

✔ To review Library readership dept-wise.

✔ To adopt measures to enhance readership.

✔ To prepare a budget and proposals for the development of the library.

✔ To recommend to the authorities the fees and other charges for using the library.

✔ To seek Feedback on Library functions from readers.

✔ To submit the annual report on the functioning of the library

✔ To take measures to increase the library's membership beyond the boundaries of the college.

Term: The term of the nominated members shall be three years.

Meeting: The LC shall meet at least twice a year or when necessary.
